Compensation for Pedestrian Knocked Down by Driver

25th April 2008

When a pedestrian was knocked down in a residential area and suffered injuries, our specialist personal injury solicitors were able to recover compensation on her behalf.

Road Accident

At the time of the incident, the claimant was crossing a road in a residential area. As she neared the other side, a vehicle struck her at speed without warning. The driver failed to notice her in the road and made no effort to swerve, brake or alert her to his presence.

As a result of this road accident, the claimant was left with multiple injuries, including broken ribs, damage to her back, a head injury and serious problems with her hips. She also developed post traumatic stress disorder.

The claimant required a lot of assistance from family members during her recovery, as she initially had to use a wheelchair and crutches and, as she was still at school when the accident occurred, completing her education was more difficult. Her injuries also affected her career choices and future earning potential.

Personal Injury Claim

The injured pedestrian appointed our expert lawyers to handle her personal injury claim.

Evidence of the circumstances of the accident and the injuries she suffered was obtained and they were able to secure £30,000 in damages. This figure was to compensate the claimant for the injuries she suffered and also her financial losses, such as the costs of medical treatment, care and travel expenses.
