A man who suffered a fractured ankle in a fall at work received compensation recently, in a personal injury claim handled by our expert lawyers.
Our client was using a set of steps at his workplace at the time of his accident at work. As he put his foot onto the steps they moved out of position and he slipped. Fortunately he did not fall completely to the ground, as his foot became trapped, however he still suffered a substantial personal injury.
Colleagues rushed to assist him and he was taken to hospital for treatment. He was in plaster for a number of weeks and then required physiotherapy to aid his recovery. Our client was unable to work for more than three months and he was left with ongoing problems with the affected ankle.
The claimant incurred financial costs, including expenses for his travel to medical appointments, a loss of earnings and potential loss of future pension benefits. He appointed our specialist personal injury lawyers to assist him in making a claim for these losses as well as the pain and suffering caused by his injury.
A claim was made against his employer as they failed to provide safe and suitable equipment and they admitted liability for the accident. We put forward expert medical evidence as to the extent of our client’s injuries and negotiated a settlement of £25,000 in damages on his behalf.
If you have been injured as the result of a workplace accident caused by unsafe equipment, you may be entitled to make an injury claim.
