£105,000 Personal Injury Compensation for Child Injured on Farm

25th March 2008

Our specialist personal injury lawyers were able to recover £105,000 compensation for a boy injured at his father’s farm, when another firm had previously recommended he accept a settlement of £12,000 - 14,000.

Tractor Accident

When he was eight years old, the claimant suffered a severe injury to his foot when his father ran over it with a tractor at their family dairy farm. He required extensive medical treatment and his foot never fully recovered.

The claimant was left restricted in the type of work and working hours that he could cope with and is now limited in his ability to take part in physical activities and sports. He will be permanently affected by his injury, suffers pain and discomfort on a daily basis and has special requirements for footwear.

Injury Claim

Initially, the claimant’s family sought advice on making a personal injury claim from a high street firm. They did not make any investigation about the potential future effects of his injury however and advised them to accept a settlement at an early stage.

Our lawyers took over the case and conducted a full investigation, to ensure that the claimant would be fully compensated for his losses, including future loss of earnings, medical costs and loss of congenial employment. They recovered damages of £105,000 on his behalf.
