Our specialist clinical negligence lawyers recently recovered compensation on behalf of a woman who suffered problems due to an error made during laser eye surgery.
The claimant underwent laser eye surgery to correct her vision, in the hope that she would no longer need to wear glasses. After the procedure however the vision in her right eye was poor and there was pain and discomfort.
It was found that there had been a surgical error and the laser was used on an incorrect setting, as a result of which our client had to have 2 further operations. Her recovery therefore took much longer than anticipated because of the mistake and she endured pain, inconvenience and additional procedures unnecessarily.
If our client had received the correct treatment to begin with, it is likely she would have made a good recovery with improved vision and no complications. She therefore appointed our expert personal injury lawyers, who have extensive experience in medical negligence cases, to assist her in making a compensation claim.
The clinic admitted liability and we entered into negotiations with them regarding an acceptable offer of compensation. Our client received damages in respect of her personal injury and also her loss of earnings and other expenses related to her medical accident.
If you have suffered harm due to clinical negligence, you may be entitled to make an injury claim. Our lawyers are experts in all areas of personal injury, including accident claims, clinical negligence and industrial disease, and can provide you with the best possible guidance on your case.
