Our expert personal injury lawyers recently acted on behalf of an elderly woman, who was injured as a passenger in a bus accident caused by an uninsured driver. We recovered compensation on her behalf through the Motor Insurers Bureau (MIB).
The claimant was travelling on a bus at the time of her road accident. As the bus approached a roundabout, there was a forceful impact from behind when a car collided with it.
Our client suffered injuries to her neck and back as a result of the accident, for which she had to undergo physiotherapy treatment. Her injuries also meant that she required assistance with shopping, housework and cooking on a long-term basis.
She appointed our lawyers to make a personal injury claim on her behalf. The driver who caused the accident was uninsured, as he was disqualified from driving, and he also provided false details at the scene. It was therefore necessary to pursue the claim via the MIB, an organisation established to compensate the victims of accidents caused by uninsured or untraced drivers.
We were able to negotiate a settlement of £10,500 in damages in respect of our client’s personal injury and her financial costs related to the accident.
If you have sustained an injury in a road accident caused by someone else, whether as a driver, passenger, cyclist, motorcyclist or pedestrian, you may be entitled to make an injury claim.
