An ambulance service employee was injured in an accident at work when he fell down some steps. Our expert personal injury lawyers pursued a claim on his behalf and he received compensation.
Our client was at work, on his way to collect his ambulance, at the time of his personal injury. As normal, he went through an internal door into the garage and down a small set of steps. This area can only be accessed by authorised employees.
Unfortunately, another member of staff had left a cup of coffee on one of the steps. Our client did not see this and he stepped on it, which caused him to fall. As a result of this workplace accident he sustained injuries to his lower back, hip and knees.
The injured employee appointed our lawyers to pursue a personal injury claim against his employer, as they failed to provide a safe workplace and ensure that their staff acted responsibly.
Although the defendants admitted responsibility for the incident and put forward an offer of compensation, their initial offer was not representative of the severity of our client’s injuries. We therefore entered into negotiations with them and eventually secured a settlement of £6,000 in damages. This included an amount in respect of his loss of earnings and the costs he incurred for medication and care during his recovery.
If you have suffered a personal injury due to an accident at work, caused by the negligence of your employer or a colleague, you may be entitled to make an injury claim.
