A woman left with a long term knee injury after an accident at work received compensation recently, in a personal injury claim handled by our expert lawyers.
Our client was entering the staff toilets at her workplace when her accident occurred. The floor had just been mopped and was still wet, however no warning signs were displayed to make members of staff aware of the hazard.
She slipped as she walked across the floor and fell to the ground, suffering a personal injury to her right knee. She initially received treatment from a nurse at work, then her GP, however there was no improvement. Our client underwent physiotherapy and eventually surgery and injections, however she was left with ongoing problems and had to change her job role to accommodate this. The injury also affects her ability to continue with some other activities, such as gardening, shopping and heavier housework, so she now requires assistance from friends and family.
The injured employee felt that her employer was responsible for her accident, as they failed to take sufficient health and safety measures to provide her with a safe workplace. She appointed our specialist personal injury lawyers, who have extensive experience in workplace accident cases, to assist her in making an injury claim.
We made a claim against her employer and recovered £23,500 in damages, in respect of the injury our client sustained, her loss of earnings and the costs of travel expenses, care and assistance she required as a result of the accident.
If you suffer an accident at work, a slip, trip or fall, or any other accident caused by the negligence of someone else, you may be entitled to claim compensation.
