In a recent personal injury case, our lawyers recovered compensation for a man who was struck by a van whilst walking through a car park.
Our client was walking to his car when he saw a van reversing. He therefore passed in front of it, as this was the safest thing to do. Unfortunately the van driver stopped reversing and drove forwards suddenly, without first checking that no-one was in front of him.
The van struck our client, causing a knee injury and damage to his back. The driver left the scene without providing details, but the injured pedestrian was able to note down the vehicle information so it could be traced.
As a result of the accident our client suffered problems with his knee for more than a year and this affected his studies and his life in general.
The accident occurred because of the negligent actions of the van driver, so the injured man appointed our expert personal injury lawyers to pursue a compensation claim on his behalf.
The defendants initially failed to put forward any offers of settlement, so it was necessary for us to issue court proceedings. They subsequently made an offer before the case went to trial however and our client received in excess of £5,500 in damages.
If you suffer an injury as the result of a road accident, or any other accident caused by someone else’s negligence, you may be entitled to make a personal injury claim.
