Compensation for Motorcycle Accident Victim with Multiple Injuries

9th December 2009

In a recent personal injury claim, our specialist lawyers recovered compensation for a woman who was badly injured in a motorcycle accident.

Road Accident

Our client was riding her motorcycle along a road as normal, when a car made a turn across her path. She was unable to avoid a collision and struck first the car, then a nearby wall. As a result of this road accident she sustained a fractured pelvis, minor head injury and serious knee injuries. Due to the traumatic nature of the accident she also suffered psychological effects.

The damage to the ligaments in her knee was such that she required reconstructive surgery, which included a skin graft, and a period wearing a full leg cast. She was unable to attend work during her recovery and missed out on the regular sporting activities she usually enjoyed. There was also some permanent scarring.

Injury Claim

The claimant instructed our personal injury lawyers, who have a wealth of experience in motorcycle accident cases, to represent her in an injury claim. The driver of the vehicle admitted liability and we were able to obtain an interim payment to help cover our client’s costs whilst the claim progressed.

We made negotiations with the defendant’s insurance company and secured over £26,000 in damages. This sum took into account our client’s injuries and also financial losses and expenses she incurred as a result of the accident.
