Our expert personal injury lawyers secured compensation for a cyclist, who was injured in a road accident when he was struck by a car.
When his accident occurred our client was going straight ahead along the road, in a designated cycle lane. The driver of a car failed to notice that he was there and made a left turn across the cycle path into another road, colliding with our client’s bicycle.
He suffered a serious leg injury and had to undergo extensive surgery to repair the damage to his femur and hip. He required several months off from work, medical treatment and assistance from family members in order to recover and will most likely require further operations in the future.
The injured cyclist felt that the driver of the car was responsible for the accident, as he did not check that his path was clear before beginning the turn, even though the cycle lane was clearly marked. He therefore instructed our lawyers to assist him in making a personal injury claim.
We entered into negotiations with the other side and were able to obtain an interim payment, to assist our client financially with expenses incurred because of his personal injury whilst the claim was in progress.
A final settlement of over £55,000 in damages was recovered on his behalf, in respect of his injuries and losses caused by the accident.
If you have suffered a personal injury as the result of a cycling accident, car accident, or any other road accident caused by the negligence of someone else, you may be entitled to make an injury claim.
