A man who was badly injured in an accident at work recently recovered in excess of £200,000 compensation with help from our expert personal injury lawyers.
At the time of his injury, the claimant was walking through his workplace. The designated walkways were blocked due to an overspill of materials from another area and, as he tried to pass, he was struck forcefully by an automatic, unmanned transfer vehicle.
As a result of this workplace accident, our client suffered crush injuries to his leg and required an operation to repair the damage, followed by a period in a full leg cast and extensive physiotherapy. During his recovery he required assistance with everyday activities such as washing, dressing and moving around and modifications had to be made to his home.
Previously an active person who enjoyed socialising, cycling and gardening, the claimant was left with permanent physical restrictions. He cannot stand for any length of time, do DIY or play with his grandchildren and has developed painful osteoarthritis because of the injury. He could no longer continue in his job and is now restricted in the type of work he can undertake in the future.
The claimant held his employer responsible for his personal injury, as they failed to provide a safe working environment. He therefore appointed our specialist lawyers to assist him in making a compensation claim.
The defendants admitted liability and a substantial sum of damages was negotiated in respect of our client’s injuries, loss of earnings and out of pocket expenses that he incurred as a result of the accident.
If you have suffered an accident at work, or any other type of accident caused by the negligence of someone else, you may be entitled to claim compensation.
