With assistance from our specialist personal injury solicitors, a woman injured in a supermarket accident was recently awarded compensation.
Whilst shopping in the supermarket with a friend, the claimant reached up for a can of soup from a special offer display. Unfortunately the cans were stacked to a height of approximately six feet, and a cardboard tray containing three large cans of soup fell as she tried to take one.
The cans landed onto the claimant’s foot, causing her to suffer a personal injury. Her foot was bruised, swollen and painful and one of her toes was fractured, so she required treatment at hospital.
The claimant believed that the supermarket was at fault, as she felt they failed to stack the items in a safe manner and made the display dangerously high. She therefore instructed our lawyers to pursue a claim on her behalf.
The case was successful and the claimant was awarded £2,000 damages in respect of the pain, suffering and inconvenience she endured.
If you or a member of your family sustained an injury as the result of an accident in a public place, you may be entitled to claim compensation.
