A man who suffered back injuries in an accident at work appointed our specialist lawyers to assist him in making a personal injury claim and we secured compensation on his behalf.
In the course of his work, our client was using an order picking vehicle to move goods around a warehouse. He was stationary in one area when another employee drove a second vehicle into his and there was a forceful impact.
This caused our client to suffer a personal injury to his back, for which he required long term physiotherapy and chiropractic treatment and other physical therapies. He was unable to work for several months and eventually had to change jobs altogether.
The incident was captured on CCTV and our client’s colleague was clearly responsible for what happened. We were instructed to pursue an injury claim against his employer, as the accident was caused by the negligent actions of a member of their staff.
Although they admitted liability for our client’s workplace accident, they failed to respond to our requests for an offer of compensation so it was necessary to begin court proceedings. After detailed negotiations however, it was possible to reach an agreement before the case went to trial and we secured a settlement of £25,000 in damages. This sum took into account his injuries, loss of earnings and benefits and expenses for medication, treatment and care that he incurred because of the incident.
If you suffer a personal injury as the result of a warehouse accident, or any other accident at work caused by the negligence of someone else, you may be entitled to make a compensation claim.
