Ambulance Driver Receives Injury Compensation for Road Accident

1st October 2009

We recently secured compensation in a personal injury claim for an ambulance driver involved in a road accident.

Neck and Shoulder Injury

Our client was driving an ambulance in an emergency situation at the time of her accident. She approached a junction where her traffic light signal was on red, so she slowed to a halt initially, with her blue lights flashing, then proceeded cautiously through when she could see that the other vehicles at the junction were stationary.

Unfortunately another driver then drove forwards into the junction and collided with the side of the ambulance. The impact was so forceful that the ambulance was written off and our client suffered a personal injury. She sustained a back injury which caused pain for a couple of months, but the main problem was damage to her neck and shoulder. She required treatment including spinal injections and physiotherapy and is likely to suffer some long-term problems.

Claim Against Driver

The claimant appointed our expert personal injury lawyers to assist her in making an injury claim against the other driver. In addition to the pain of her injuries she had to take time off from work, incurred costs for medication and treatment and required assistance with caring for her horses.

We recovered a compensation settlement on her behalf.
